In season 8, episode 1 of their YouTube auto series, Gaston Rossato and Renzo Rossato undertook a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T's tasteful RestoMod with no expense spared.

No expenses spared was the key, as the carmakers claimed they even had a stack of receipts ready to amaze the viewers. Some of the goodies in the Dodge Charger are not typically found in a '68 Charger or old school Charger, for that matter. The car was a rotisserie restoration, and so the motorheads did not wish to drive their car in the South Florida rain. Thus, unfortunately, viewers could not know the dirt or feel the power of the HEMI engine.

A True Muscle Car

The car was naturally powerful because of its muscle car status. Muscle cars being synonymous with power, the Charger has got a 426 HEMI. But the surprises didn't stop there with this model. It was a resto-mod car with a stroker engine. The remodeling work cost a whopping $100,000. Some restorations comprised engine lifters, seals, and performance camshaft hydraulic roller, Edelbrock Hemi dual intake manifold, a billet timing system, polished ceramic coated, headers with thermal barrier, high torque adjustable starter, and stainless steel oil dipstick. The carmakers didn't own a dyno, and thus the power generated is unknown, but it was nonetheless impressive as the sound made by the car was nothing short of outrageous.

There were certain things in this car that were not easily found in the typical restomods. Usually, less expensive builds finish the restoration at the engine but not in this case. The remodeling was done from bumper to bumper. The car was upgraded with Wilwood Brakes, 14-inch rotors drilled and slotted with six pistons, and 13-inch rotors in the rear. Therefore the braking power was no joke on this model. It proved beneficial since the car was massive with a heck load of power that needed a corresponding brake of at least 14-inch rotors. The car then sported a massive 345 tire on a 20-inch wheel in the rear, and there was custom work done for the appropriate fit.

The Advanced Mechanics Due To Further Remodeling

The remodeled car was a spectacular work, and the top-notch quality could be perceived in the engine bay and the interior. The car was equipped with a completely modified suspension and a five-speed transmission. The remodeling fitted the car with not the original dash but a digital dash. The front headlights were all upgraded to led headlights, and it had a power steering too. As a result of the resto-mod, it sported some advanced mechanics.

The 1968 Dodge Charger R/T RestoMod is a modern-day car on a vintage body. This model shall be a delight for American muscle car lovers who would probably instantly fall in love with it. It seems like an actual show car and is listed for a price of $200,000.
